Jiggly cheeks and a dark tongue are just some of Olive’s cute traits as a Chinese Shar-Pei. The Chow Chow is another breed that is well known to have this dark tongue, although some other breeds can have them, too! The blue-black tongue was believed to ward off evil spirits as well as make them more “ferocious” looking.
