This week 95 disabled advocates from across the country brought the power of our community to DC, for AAPD Disability Power On The Hill. We met with our reps in the House and Senate and urged them to end 14(c) sub minimum wages, end penalties that keep SSI recipients from getting married and having savings, fully fund IDEA, and more. These halls of power were never made with us in mind, which is precisely why it matters that we show up anyway, as our full selves — loud, disabled, and proud. 🦾🗣
