Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino has been scorching over the past few weeks and the MLB has taken notice.

DETROIT -- Vinnie Pasquantino and Maikel Garcia homered to help the Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers 10-8 on Sunday. The Royals improved to 28-14 in series finales this season. They are 9-4 when they are in danger of being swept.

After an historic week, Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino was recognized with the highest weekly honor in the majors. Pasquantino was named the American League Player of the Week. He joined Philadelphia Phillies starter Ranger Suarez - who won the National League honor - as the top players in the sport last week.
