Utah Hockey Club announced this week that a public contest to name the team has been narrowed down to the final three options including keeping the generic Utah Hockey Club name, Utah Mammoth and Utah Wasatch.

A lot of Utah hockey fans wanted their team to be called the Yetis. Here's why that won't happen — and the naming options the team has left.

Wasatch, named for the Wasatch mountain range in Utah, has been swapped out with Outlaws, the team announced on Thursday. It will join Hockey Club and Mammoth, which made the final four after an initial fan vote last year, as the three options fans will be able to vote on during the team's current four-game homestand.
