Texas beat Kentucky 16-13 in overtime last week but had to overcome one of the worst offensive games of Sarkisian's five-year tenure. The No. 22 Longhorns managed just 179 total yards against the Wildcats in the latest slog behind first-year starting quarterback Arch Manning and a rebuilt offensive line.

The 6-foot-1, 227-pound Baxter joined Texas in 2023 as a 5-star recruit from Florida and immediately contributed 659 yards and five touchdowns rushing as a true freshman. But Baxter missed last season with a knee injury, and he’s played two full games this year while rushing for 110 yards on 24 carries.

Manning completed only 12 of 27 passes for 132 yards, no touchdowns, and no picks in a 16-13 overtime victory over Kentucky. Despite a 14-yard scramble, the Wildcats sacked Manning three times and eventually held him to -1 rushing yards on 11 carries.

The Longhorns produced their lowest yardage-output in the Steve Sarkisian era, only gaining 179 yards on the day.
