Alabama football had 11 players named to the preseason All-SEC teams announced Friday after SEC Media Days, as voted on by conference media. Wide receiver Ryan Williams and left tackle Kadyn Proctor each made the first team. No defensive players were included on the first team.
Milroe played four seasons with Alabama, working his way up to sixth in Heisman Trophy voting in 2023. The senior threw for 2844 yards in 2024 to accompany 20 rushing touchdowns. He was drafted in the third round of this year’s NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
Alabama may have high expectations for the 2025 season, but the Crimson Tide did something for the first-time ever in the preseason poll.
Eleven different teams got votes to win the SEC championship. Georgia was second with 44 votes, followed by Alabama (29), then LSU (20), South Carolina (5), Oklahoma (3), Vanderbilt (2), Florida (2), Tennessee (1), Ole Miss (1) and Auburn (1).
In his preseason SEC football power rankings this week, the veteran college football scribe has Alabama at No. 3 behind Texas and Georgia -- the two teams who met in last year's conference title game.
