Two days of hindsight and film review later, Broncos coach Sean Payton on Monday acknowledged he’s revisited his own critical decision at the end of regulation in Saturday’s overtime loss to Cincinnati.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow broke his own franchise single-season record for passing yardage with his 31-yard toss to Tee Higgins to set up a game-winning touchdown pass to Higgins.

The Denver Broncos–Cincinnati Bengals game had NFL fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish, especially in overtime. But overtime could've been avoided if the Broncos would've gone for a two-point conversion instead of an extra point to end regulation.

That the Bengals were ravenous should have come as no surprise. At the season's start, quarterback Joe Burrow and company were a trendy pick to cock-block the Kansas City Chiefs' quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl victory.

The Denver Broncos only needed a win or a tie on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals to clinch their first playoff appearance since the 2015 season. They ended up getting neither, and head coach Sean Payton is one of the biggest culprits in their failure to do so.
