No children were injured Thursday morning in a hit-and-run collision that caused a school bus to crash into a building on Detroit's west side, police said. Officer Justin Hearn, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department, said the crash was reported before 8:45 a.m. and happened near the intersection of Meyer Road and Curtis Street.

An 85-year-old school bus driver died after he was hit by another bus in a “tragic accident” at a high school, New Jersey officials said. Jack Hohwald was at Maple Shade High School on Jan. 28 when he was hit by a bus, the Maple Shade Police Department wrote in a news release posted to Facebook.

Maple Shade police say Jack Hohwald, 85, was outside his bus on the high school’s grounds when he was fatally struck Tuesday. School officials canceled classes on Wednesday following the deadly crash.
