Concern over human rights violations, lack of action by the U.S. Congress and frustration with President Donald Trump's administration were some of the reasons that brought over 200 people to the No Kings 2.0 Alexandria rally.

"What is our objective? To defend the Constitution from those who think they are above it," said speaker Alanah Odoms, executive director for ACLU Louisiana. "You know why? Because we have a Constitution,

New Orleans, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Hammond, Leesville, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, Ruston and Shreveport.

No Kings protest leaders in Lafayette invite like-minded people from all political parties to join them for peaceful event Saturday, Oct. 18.

More "No Kings" rallies are planned across the country, including here in Minnesota. Organizers say they have volunteers focused on de-escalation in case of tension.
