Los Angeles County health officials said Wednesday a Panorama City resident is the latest case of locally acquired dengue.

Public health officials say this case is unrelated to the three other cases in Baldwin Park, which they called "unprecedented" last week.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is warning about a rise in mpox cases in the Los Angeles area and urging those at the highest risk of transmission to get vaccinated against the potentially serious disease.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the latest case is unrelated to the three previous infections, which all occurred in a cluster in the Baldwin Park area.

A Panorama City resident has been confirmed with a rare locally acquired case of the mosquito-borne illness dengue, making him the fourth person in the county with the virus this year, public health officials said Wednesday.
