Kada Scott, the 23-year-old Philadelphia woman who was kidnapped and killed, was preparing to be a bridesmaid in her friend's wedding.

The medical examiner is still working to determine Kada Scott's cause of death following the discovery of the missing woman's remains over the weekend.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia community gathered again on Tuesday night to honor Kada Scott. "To see this happen to someone so close to me and not understand why it happened, such a senseless, foolish crime," said Preye Korimodei, who is Scott's friend.

Philadelphia City Councilmember Cindy Bass is calling for Ada H. H. Lewis Middle School to be demolished after Kada Scott's body was found near the vacant property Saturday. Bass represents District 8,

Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner said human remains that were found over the weekend were confirmed to belong to Scott by DNA.

Friends and family are gathered to pay tribute to Kada Scott, the young woman whose body was found near a Philadelphia school.

It’s not yet clear how Kada Scott died, but a law enforcement source said police believe she was likely killed within 30 minutes of leaving her workplace the night she disappeared.
