Rescue boats were used to evacuate an elementary school in Allegany County, Maryland Tuesday as heavy rains brought flooding to the region, the county’s emergency services department said.
A flood advisory was issued by the NWS Raleigh NC on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in effect until 9 p.m. for Wayne County.
On Tuesday at 10:40 a.m. a flood warning was released by the NWS Wilmington NC valid from Wednesday 2 p.m. until Saturday 3:31 p.m. for Bladen and Cumberland counties.
A flood warning was released by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 8:26 p.m. valid from Monday 4 p.m. until Thursday 3:15 p.m. for Greene, Hale and Marengo counties.
As heavy rain continues, some areas are facing a flood warning due to flooding that is imminent or already happening.
On Monday at 5:36 p.m. a coastal flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid from Tuesday 10 p.m. until Wednesday 2 a.m. for Salem County.
Local crews are being dispatched to Allegany County, Maryland Tuesday afternoon to assist with flood response.
