Glendale police officers were seeking a domestic violence suspect but shot and killed an unrelated man at a park, Peoria police said.

Glendale police shot and killed a man at a park while attempting to locate a domestic violence suspect Wednesday night.

GLENDALE, Ariz. - A massive police presence was sent to an area in Glendale for an investigation. Streets were blocked off around Horizon Park by many police vehicles. According to Glendale Police spokesperson Jose Santiago, the police response is due to a possible shooting involving police officers. The incident happened at 47th and Olive avenues.

Glendale police officers responded to a call near 47th and Glendale avenues where a woman reported that she was threatened by a man with a gun.

Peoria Police say Glendale Police officers were in the area of 47th Avenue and Butler for when they encountered a 46-year-old Tucson man sitting nearby, and believed he was involved in a domestic incident that happened in the area of 47th Avenue and Glendale.
