BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel cars were banned in Delhi after pollution levels breached severe category last week.

This decision follows continuous rainfall, which has helped bring down pollution levels, according to an official statement issued on Friday.

According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, the air quality situation is predicted to improve further owing to favourable meteorological conditions.

The Commission for Air Quality Management, responsible for air pollution mitigation in Delhi-NCR, stated that restrictions under Stage 1 and Stage 2 will remain in place.
