Week 8 of the 2025 college football season saw four of the nation's top-10 teams go down—one of which in upset, field-storming fashion —causing quite the shakeup in the latest AP Top 25.
Ole Miss blew out Tulane and beat LSU, while Louisville's best result besides this week's win was a comeback victory over a flawed but improving Pittsburgh team. The Cardinals also have the weaker loss. Falling to Virginia at home is not the same as losing to Georgia on the road, even if the Virginia defeat was in overtime.
The Tennessee Vols' slow climb up the AP Top poll will end this week. Tennessee started the season ranked No. 24 in the AP Top 25 poll. The Volunteers climbed all the way to No. 11 this past week before suffering a 37-20 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
The Tulane Green Wave sees their polling improve in this week's Top-25 Polls. For the first time this season, the Tulane Green Wave has received votes from the media voting in the AP Top-25 poll. Though not enough to get in to the 25th slot, the Wave garnered 37 this week.
