Tropical Storm Sara formed this afternoon and threatens to bring "life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides" to Honduras throughout the weekend, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center. A turn toward Florida is still possible, forecasters said.

Data now show Tropical Depression Nineteen has become Tropical Storm Sara. This late in the season, fall features will play a big role in guiding this storm once it develops. The area is going to generally move west through the Caribbean Sea in a favorable area for strengthening.

Tropical depression nineteen is currently located just off of the east cost of Honduras, but is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm later today. When it strengthens into a tropical storm, it will be given the name Sara.
