Federal authorities have charged LeShon Johnson, an All-American running back at Northern Illinois in 1993 who played five seasons in the NFL, with running a massive dogfighting ring in his native Oklahoma.

LeShon Johnson, a former Arizona Cardinals running back, was indicted on federal dogfighting charges in Oklahoma.

In a press release on the United States Department of Justice's website, it was announced that an unsealed grand jury indictment from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma showed Johnson has been charged with violating the federal Animal Welfare Act.
