Australia has a new UFC champion in Jack Della Maddalena. Della Maddalena put in a fantastic performance in the main event of UFC 315, outworking Belal Muhammad to win the UFC welterweight championship.

Jack Della Maddalena dethroned Belal Muhammad via unanimous decision to become the UFC welterweight champion in Montreal. Two judges gave the victory at UFC 315 to Della Maddalena by slim 48-47 margins while the third saw it 49-46 in his favour.

With the win, Della Maddalena remains undefeated inside the Octagon. Muhammad, who beat Leon Edwards at UFC 304 to claim the championship, had not lost a fight since January 2019.
