Thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews packed the streets and sidewalks for blocks around the Israeli consulate in New York City on Sunday to protest issues including a potential end of an exemption for religious students from compulsory service in Israel's military.

Gaza’s ruins were being scoured for the dead on Saturday, over a week into a ceasefire as newly recovered bodies brought the Palestinian toll above 68,000.

Pressure is mounting on international football authorities to exclude the Israeli national team from their tournaments, following the United Nations declaration that Israel has committed genocide in the Gaza Strip.

This latest transfer of remains comes a day after Israel received the bodies of four other dead hostages.
