Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels (6-1, 3-1 SEC) will return to action in Week 9 for a Top-25 matchup against John Mateer and the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.

There is always good and bad to take away from every single game, even if it's a shutout, even if it's a blowout. Last week against the Texas Longhorns, they got blown out, but there were still some players who played well. There were also a ton who played badly. The same can be said against South Carolina.

On Saturday, the sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners lost 23-6 to the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry. For the third time in four years under head coach Brent Venables, Oklahoma failed to score a touchdown against its biggest rival. The Sooners are now 1-3 against Texas under Venables.

The Sooner defense swarmed the Gamecocks all afternoon and have Oklahoma setup for a showdown with Ole MIss next Saturday.

The Oklahoma Sooners were too reliant on John Mateer on Saturday in the Cotton Bowl. They need to be more committed to running the football.
