Linda McMahon moves one step closer to confirmation as secretary of the Education Department as Trump seeks to dismantle it.

Linda McMahon’s nomination to serve as President Trump’s education secretary has advanced out of Senate committee.

McMahon, who led Trump’s Small Business Administration during his first term, was approved in a party-line vote by all 12 Republicans on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions
