“It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Daniel Naroditsky,” the statement from Naroditysky’s family read.

Daniel Naroditsky, a chess grandmaster who grew up in the Bay Area, has died at the age of 29, according to a North Carolina-based chess center where he worked.

Naroditsky later graduate from Stanford University and work as a chess coach for Charlotte, North Carolina.
