Gordmans, which is now owned by Texas-based Stage Stores Inc., said it is "committed to staying in the region" and is now hiring for its Omaha store, which will be located at 14933 Evans Plaza.

Stage went on to say its offer would include assumption of a "substantial number" of Gordmans’ 100 stores leased in 22 states, and the "offer of employment" to certain store and warehouse workers.

The museum will be campaigning for donations via Facebook and e-mail. It has received a $10,000 donation from the Gordmans Corp. and $2,500 from an individual.
