The United States has already been hit with quite a few winter storms over the past several weeks, bringing heavy snow and high winds to parts of the country.

Scotland is set to be battered by snow storms again this weekend, as the wintry start to 2026 shows little sign of letting up.

Local resident Sarah Johnson, 66, told BBC Scotland News that a lot of people had not been able to get out at all.
