Former Missouri State Lady Bears head coach Kellie Harper has been hired as the new women’s basketball coach at Missouri, where the former coach of SEC-rival Tennessee will have the job of rebuilding a once-proud program that has not been to the NCAA Tournament in six years.

Mizzou women’s basketball made a big splash in the coaching world Tuesday hiring former Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper. The announcement came from Mizzou athletic director Laird Veatch. Veatch, who was named Mizzou’s AD last May, emphasized his want for a proven winner and somebody who has head coaching experience at multiple places.
