Chase Meidroth was apparently on the phone with Boston Red Sox top prospect Marcelo Mayer when he discovered he was traded to the Chicago White Sox for Garrett Crochet.

Meidroth, 23, was a 2022 fourth-round pick of the Red Sox out of San Diego. He had a great 2024 season in Worcester, hitting .293 with an .838 OPS, seven home runs, 57 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. The 23-year-old finding out he was being traded in a deal after trying to break that news to someone else is just an incredible visual.

Red Sox pitchers and catchers have their first workout two weeks from today, so it's time to take a first crack at projecting the 26-man Opening Day roster.
