Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is reportedly a candidate for the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders' openings. According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, both the Jets and Raiders have submitted a request to the Chiefs to interview Spagnuolo.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo, the New York Jets have requested an interview with the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo for their vacant head coaching position.

According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, New York plans to interview Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown for their head coaching job on Friday. McCown has spent the last season in Minnesota coaching up Sam Darnold during his career resurgent year, and before that, he spent a year in Carolina with Bryce Young and the Panthers.

At least two teams are requesting interviews with Spagnuolo as they look to fill their head coaching spots, according to NFL Network insiders.

On Oct. 8, after Jets owner Woody Johnson fired Robert Saleh following a 2-3 start, Ulbrich, who was the defensive coordinator, became the team’s interim coach. Johnson hoped Ulbrich would ignite a spark and lead Gang Green to the playoffs. However, Saleh’s firing had the opposite effect.

For some of those teams, that will involve finding new head coaches and/or General Managers. Three teams fired their head coaches during the season and two more have been dispatched as of 9 a.m. ET on January 6.
