Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka overcame a wobbly display to reach the Australian Open fourth round while Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were at their dazzling best on a warm but windy Friday at Melbourne Park.

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz swept into the third round of the Australian Open in the wake of women's top seed Aryna Sabalenka on Wednesday as the rain returned and Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen bowed out.

Order of play for Friday, January 17 at the 2025 Australian Open, with Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jack Draper, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff all playing.

Carlos Alcaraz continued his quest to win his first trophy at Melbourne Park and wooed the crowd as he shared his plans to get a specific tattoo if he lifts the title. Reigning champion Aryna Sabalenka also advanced to the second week, as did one of her good friends, 11th seed Paula Badosa.

Aryna Sabalenka will also in action as she continues her title defense against Denmark's C. Tauson in the thrid round encounter.
