After all, with a pair of solid-showing victories by Kevin Lankinen, the Vancouver Canucks were expected to give the unflappable Finn the start against the Nashville Predators and a run of all three games on this road trip.

The Canucks got a strong performance from Demko and the first NHL goal from Karlsson to beat the Predators 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Tommy Novak scored the lone goal for the Predators, who have now lost two in a row after their season-long five-game winning streak. Juuse Saros finished with 19 saves in the loss, while Canucks goaltender made 31 saves to earn his fourth win of the season.
