After multiple consumer complaints, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued a public health alert for some Wegmans chicken nugget products warning they may contain “extraneous material.” The frozen chicken nuggets were sold in Pennsylvania and seven other states, as well as the District of Columbia, according to a Jan. 27 notice.

A recall was issued for 46 ounce plastic packages containing “Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat."

Wegmans issued a recall of family-sized frozen chicken nuggets. The recall occurred after consumers complained of finding bone fragments in the meat. The United States Department of Agriculture warned the public of the possible contamination.

Wegmans is recalling frozen chicken nuggets in eight states and the District of Columbia because there may be bone fragments in the packages.
