Improved weather conditions allowed firefighters to increase containment on the blaze raging northwest of Los Angeles and keep it from growing over the weekend, but residents from about 1,000 evacuated homes still had to stay away.

The odds of finding it were probably less than finding a needle in a haystack and the fact that we were able to go over and help them – and it was probably the worst day of their lives – bring a little joy to them is something that will take us forever,
