Iran’s foreign minister was in Pakistan on Monday to try and mediate in the escalation between Islamabad and New Delhi after last month’s deadly attack on tourists in the Indian-controlled section of Kashmir.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson expressed grave concern about the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, urging the two countries to exercise self-restraint.

Iran’s Deputy FM Araghchi will visit New Delhi to attend a joint commission, aiming to mediate rising India-Pakistan tensions.
