Chevron and Shell cut Kazakhstan oil output by 25%–30% after a Ukrainian drone attack damaged Russia's Orenburg gas processing plant.

Gazprom and KazMunayGas have been cooperating since 2002 as part of the joint commercial enterprise KazRosGas. This joint venture was created on a parity basis to purchase gas from the Karachaganak field, process it at the Orenburg GPP, and sell it to consumers in Kazakhstan and Russia.
