MONTREAL — Mikael Granlund scored the overtime winner, and Finland beat Sweden 4-3 Saturday in an instant classic, back-and-forth game between the bitter rivals at the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Dallas Stars forward scored 1:49 into 3-on-3 OT, sending fans in Finland’s blue and white at Bell Centre to the exits cheering and chanting, “Suomi!”

Kevin Lankinen and Elias Pettersson flew to the 4 Nations Face-Off together, the Vancouver Canucks teammates discussing a few different topics. The rivalry between their countries in hockey -- Lankinen is from Finland and Pettersson from Sweden -- was one of them.

Besides Matthews and McAvoy, who are not only Americans but play for rivals of the Montreal Canadiens, the two biggest villains for the U.S. team are brothers Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk. They're pretty much viewed that way around the entire NHL for their abrasive style of play, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Americans and Canadians are coming off a pair of wins earlier this week over Finland and Sweden, respectively. The championship game is Thursday, Feb. 20.
