Three-division world champion Julio César Chávez has defended his same-name son who was arrested by U.S. immigration agents outside his home in Los Angeles for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application.

Chávez Jr.'s attorney, Michael Goldstein, said boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was recently held by DHS in Hidalgo, Texas, but could not confirm whether his client was still in the United States.
