Andres Gimenez singled to drive in Jose Ramirez from second base Thursday and give Cleveland a 3-2 victory over Minnesota to clinch a Major League Baseball playoff spot.The Milwaukee Brewers clinched the National League Central division title on Wednesday while the New York Yankees have clinched an American League playoff berth along with Cleveland.

No one expected much from the Cleveland Guardians heading into the 2024 season. They were coming off a season in which they finished with a sub .500 record, and their future Hall of Fame Manager had retired directly after the season.
