The 66 locations closing this year will be in nearly two dozen states including: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Macy's has released a list of 66 "underproductive" stores it plans to close, three are in Georgia. More closures are expected at a later date.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture announced it had detected a case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, sometimes called bird flu, in a small, backyard flock of chickens and ducks in Clayton County.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been detected in a backyard flock in Oakland County, the second case reported in the county since 2022.
