HONOLULU (AP) — The on-and-off eruption that’s been dazzling residents and visitors on Hawaii’s Big Island for nearly a year resumed Tuesday as Kilauea volcano sent fountains of lava soaring 400 feet into the air.

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) — Volcanic activity in northern Ethiopia’s long-dormant Hayli Gubbi volcano subsided Tuesday after an eruption over the weekend that left a trail of destruction in nearby villages and caused flight cancellations after ash plumes disrupted high-altitude flight paths.

The Meteorological Department said volcanic ash clouds cleared India by 10:30 pm on Tuesday. Meanwhile, IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air have cancelled several flights following the eruption of Hayli Gubbi volcano.

Hawaii's Kilauea volcano, one of the most active in the world, is about to erupt again, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Satellite images have captured a rare volcanic eruption that occurred Sunday at Ethiopia’s Hayli Gubbi volcano, sending towering ash plumes toward Yemen and Oman. The eruption is the first recorded activity at the volcano in roughly 10,000 years, offering scientists a striking glimpse of a previously dormant geological site.

The magnitude-4.6 earthquake was felt as far away as Honolulu, and shook the islands just as the most recent volcanic eruption was winding down.

A bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad was urged to take up hearing into a bunch of pleas from the year 2023 on the issue of air pollution in Mumbai.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu has assured that safety measures are in place following the Hayli Gubbi volcano eruption in Ethiopia. Indian airlines are closely monitoring the ash clouds drifting towards western India.
