Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed Shadows are both back in the middle of controversy following the new release date for the game.

Ubisoft Entertainment SA fell the most since September after the French video-game company announced another delay in its popular Assassin’s Creed franchise and analysts expressed doubts about its takeover prospects.

Ubisoft announced a “strategic update” today, and the changes include a delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming entry in the franchise that takes place in feudal Japan, from February 14th to March 20th.

This marks the second release date change for the video game, which was originally moved from its planned Nov. 15, 2024 launch to Feb. 14, 2025 at Ubisoft last September. The shift was attributed to quality concerns related to poor performance for “Star Wars Outlaws” at the time.

Rock Paper Shotgun report that Ubisoft has announced another delay for the game pushing the release date from February 14 to March 20, 2025.
