A cross-country storm could lead to travel havoc for millions of Thanksgiving travelers this week, forecasters said.
According to AccuWeather’s forecast map for Wednesday, states with the poorest travel conditions include Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. “Fair” conditions are expected along the East Coast and Northwest, as well as parts of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. Much of the remainder of the country will see good conditions, the map showed.
Traveling to your Thanksgiving destination may be smoother than heading home, with a cross-country storm possibly bringing rain and snow over the long weekend.
Michigan is in for a windy, rainy and snowy week, with weather officials expecting almost 2 feet of snow in some UP spots.
New Jersey is bracing for a blustery Thanksgiving Day, with mostly cloudy skies, strong gusty winds, and high temperatures only reaching the low to mid-40s.
Temperatures in the Chicago area are forecast to dip into the 30s starting Wednesday, and wind chills could fall to a low of 6 degrees Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the National Weather Service as of Nov. 24, the forecast for Nov. 29 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is mostly cloudy with a high temperature near 33 degrees. There is also a chance of snow.
Some suburban Houston residents are dealing with cleanup following at least two tornadoes as heavy rain falls around the South and snow in parts of the Midwest.
