Hall of Fame Dodgers great Tommy Lasorda will officially have a stretch of the I-5 Freeway dedicated in his name on Saturday.

On March 5, 1997, the Veterans Committee elected Tommy Lasorda into the Baseball Hall of Fame along with Nellie Fox and Negro League star Willie Wells.

Tommy Lasorda named Team USA manager Also on this day in Los Angeles Dodgers history but in 2000, Lasorda was named the manager of the United States Olympic baseball team.
