The court heard oral arguments on TikTok’s bid to block a law that would lead to its ban in the U.S. starting Jan. 19 if it isn’t sold by its Chinese owner.

The US Supreme Court appears likely to uphold a law that would force TikTok's Chinese owner ByteDance to sell the video-sharing platform or else shut it down.

Back in April, President Joe Biden signed a bill that had been passed by Congress that forced TikTok owner ByteDance to sell TikTok within 270 days. Failure to do so would lead to the app being banned in the United States, although Biden could push the deadline back if he saw progress toward a sale.
