South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has visited the sites of devastating floods that have left at least 78 people dead in the southeast of the country.

The head of Gift of the Givers’ search and rescue team, Ahmed Bham, says he has not for a long time seen devastation such as that caused by the Mthatha flood last week.

The discovery of a 15-year-old boy’s body in Mthatha has raised the Eastern Cape floods death toll to 95, with search efforts still underway.
