The Michigan and Michigan State women's basketball teams are moving up in the Associated Press Top 25. Michigan moved up one spot to No. 7, and Michigan State two spots to No. 13, in Monday's updated rankings.

COLUMBUS, Ohio— No. 2/2-ranked Michigan State was defeated by Ohio State on Saturday night, 2-1, at the Schottenstein Center. The Spartans move to 15-5-0 overall and 6-4-0 in Big Ten action this season, while Ohio State improves to 7-12-1 and 3-7 in conference play.

Nebraska slipped to 14-4 overall and 3-4 in the Big Ten with all four losses to top 20 teams, while the Spartans improved to 17-1 and 6-1 in the conference.

The portal additions roll on for new coach Pat Fitzgerald with Charlotte kicker Liam Boyd and South Carolina offensive lineman Nick Sharpe among the latest commitments on Tuesday. Boyd announced the move on social media while Sharpe’s commitment was reported by multiple outlets.

“This was another exceptional fall fish stocking season, enhancing fishing opportunities throughout Michigan,” DNR fish production manager Aaron Switzer said in a release. “Combined with successful spring and summer stocking efforts, the 2025 total reached nearly 19.5 million fish stocked in Michigan’s waters.”
