He was in position to be the first to report that wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El was leaving the Lions to become the new passing game coordinator of the Chicago Bears.

With Antwaan Randle El joining the Bears, Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown will have a new position coach for the first time in his career next season.

Randle El, a product of Thornton Township High School, has spent the last four seasons coaching star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

According to reports, wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El is departing to join former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson’s staff with the Chicago Bears. Randle El will reportedly be the Bears’ assistant head coach and wide receivers coach.

The Detroit Lions also lost coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn to head coach jobs and DL coach Terrell Williams to a coordinator spot.
