This Saturday’s “College GameDay,” hosted in Columbus, Ohio, ahead of the big game between No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 1 Texas Longhorns, will be Corso’s final GameDay. Corso will make his final headgear pick where the tradition began — in Columbus in 1996, when he correctly chose the Buckeyes over the Penn State Nittany Lions.

That day became less about the Cougars’ 37-7 victory and more about a moment no one saw coming. Lee Corso, then 76 years old and already beloved for his headgear theatrics, dropped an expletive on live television during his SMU-Houston pick. The crowd roared. His colleagues froze. And a new chapter of "GameDay" lore was born.
