The new Freelander models have a host of interior and electrical changes. The centre console has been revised to include the gearbox selector and Hill Descent Control (HDC) switch on automatic models.
An automatic gearbox was available on the diesel and for the 2.5 V6 it was standard. The hardback and softback models got the same engine and transmission options.
A revised Freelander 2 in September 2010 brought an overhauled interior, design tweaks and a two-wheel-drive eD4 model, plus the auto-only 188bhp SD4. Manual gearbox TD4s also featured stop/start.
