Darrell Brooks is dropping his court-appointed attorney. Michael Covey has been Brooks' attorney for the last two years as part of Brooks' appeal. Brooks now wants to represent himself going forward.

Darrell Brooks killed six people and hurt dozens of others when he drove through the parade route. Earlier this week, Brooks’ attorney filed a sixth extension to appeal the convictions.
