House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said on Wednesday the panel plans to move forward with contempt of Congress proceedings against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after she defied a subpoena for a deposition as part of the panel's probe into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The announcement comes a day after Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said he would seek to hold former President Bill Clinton in contempt for skipping his deposition.

Congressional Republicans are threatening to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress after the Democratic former president and presidential candidate refused to testify in a GOP-led House probe into Jeffrey Epstein.

The House Oversight Committee plans to hold Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress. The announcement came on the morning of Wednesday, January 14, as she failed to appear for her deposition as part of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
