Angel City Football Club has appointed Mark Parsons as the team's new sporting director ahead of the 2025 NWSL season to oversee all matters related to soccer operations.

Mark Parsons, who won the NWSL championship with the Portland Thorns, is the new Sporting Director at Angel City FC.

Angel City owner Willow Bay has made her first major personnel move, hiring NWSL veteran Mark Parsons to be the club's new sporting director.

There is the immediate pressing matter of naming Angel City’s next head coach, after the club parted ways with Becki Tweed in December. Eleri Earnshaw was named interim head coach as part of that announcement, and Parsons said he expects to wrap up the technical staff by the end of the week — and not put a timeline on hiring a new head coach.
